Interestingly enough, this day can make you love your life or hate it. There really is not any perpendicular intersection with this one.
I have had "love my life" days on a couple Feb. 14s as well "hate my life" on just about the same. Right now I am even. And even at 50/50 I feel pretty damn lucky.
On that note, for all the UNlucky, I think this day is too exclusive. On christmas you don't necessairly hate your life just because you got practical gifts or gift cards or a card from your grandma. BUT on valentines day a card from your grandma is basically airmail anthrax.
Valentine's Day should be broadened to include acknowledging and appreciating all love, not just romantically. Friend love, pet love, family love, favorite food love, hobby love etc. etc.
I love valentines day. And so should you. Even if it doesn't end with a blowjob at the end of the night, the warmth should still be spread like a highly contagious rash.
P.S. i love everything about valentines day except for those grosssssss conversation hearts. They taste like chalk! blehgh!
